Twisted and Mangled But Alive To Tell The Story!

June 5th, 2010 was no different than any other day in the life of our daughter, Kimberly Lemire. She got up that morning just as she always did and began her day. Her husband is a US Marine and was deployed and fighting the War in Afghanistan, so she and her baby girl were back home in Indiana and renting a mobile home from one of our neighbors.
~~~
She's not the type who likes to sit at home and do nothing, so she began working. That afternoon on June 5th, she brought my grandbaby over so I could watch her as I always did when she went to work.
~~~
The weather was getting bad that night, but she was supposed to come home around 8 or 9 pm and pick up her baby and then head for home. 10pm rolled around and she was still not home. She told me that her boss wanted her to stay and work late. She was aggravated with him because she wanted to hurry and get home. I told her that the baby was already sleeping, and for her to just leave her here and to go on home. But I also told her that there were tornado warnings out, and to be careful.
~~~
Around 1:15 the next morning (3 hrs later) on June 6th, our younger daughter came running into our bedroom and said that Kimberly was on the phone and wanted us to get the baby and get to a safe place because a tornado was on it's way. My husband took the phone and started talking to her. She was scared and didn't know what to do because she was in a mobile home. I told my husband to tell her to come over here to our house which was 2 miles down the road from her. She said she didn't think she had time.
~~~
At that moment she began screaming and then the phone went dead! My husband began screaming her name over and over and she never replied. He immediately jumped in his truck and raced down the road to check on her. He was totally horrified at what he saw when he rounded the corner. The trailer was no longer standing, but was scattered all over the road. At this point, he did not know if she was dead or alive. His phone rang and he thought it was us and he began screaming in the phone that her trailer was gone!
~~~
The caller on the other end of the line WAS OUR DAUGHTER!! She made it out alive!! She had to keep screaming in the phone telling him that it was her and that she was okay! She had been buried underneath the rubble and managed to dig herself out and ran for the ditch and then ran to the neighbors house. And that is when my husband pulled up. Everything happened so fast!
~~~
She was taken to the hospital in an Ambulance where she was told that she should not have survived. We took her to a second hospital later that day for a second opinion because she was having complications, and they too told her that she was a miracle and that she should not have survived. It was later declared that the tornado was an EF-1. We are so thankful that it was not bigger than it was.
~~~
Our daughter did not have renters insurance and she lost everything and had to start all over again. With the help of the community, she was able to get a good start.
~~~
In the meantime, her husband was serving in Afghanistan and all he could do was talk to her on the phone while she lay in the hospital. He was not allowed to leave and come home since her injuries were not life threatening.
~~~
This young couple has been through many storms in their marriage, but they are proving to the world that with God as the head of their home, they are going to make it. God protected Kimberly during this tornado and He protected Alex during the War and brought them both back together again on Sept. 29, 2010, safe in each others arms, at Alex' HomeComing from Afghanistan!
~~~
As you look at the pictures below, you can't help but realize that God sent a Guardian Angel to carry our daughter through this twister! This was no coincidence! It was God!! Had she gotten off work at the regular time, she would have had the baby with her in the trailer and we could have had a different outcome to this story. After analyzing the damages, we discovered that the twister hit the baby's room first before carrying it out into the road and across the field. We cannot thank God enough for His protection and for what He is doing in the lives of our children!

This neighbor dedicated himself to searching for photo's that could be salvaged.
He managed to find them all. Thank-You Earl!

The HomeComing!

HER HERO COMES HOME!!!

Our son-in-law Cpl. Alex Lemire was serving in Afghanistan as a US Marine and could not be with his wife and baby girl after the tornado hit. But he was allowed to call her while she lay in her hospital bed. He felt so helpless, knowing that he could not be here with them.

They are now back in each others arms and loving life as a family once again. They are stationed at Camp Lejeune in NC. They still have their struggles due to losing everything and then finding out that Alex' identity was stolen and his credit ruined. Their Faith is what keeps them going.

Below are a couple videos of his HomeComing in Sept. 2010

Together At Last!!

Through the storms and through the War, God's hand of protection was on this couple and brought them
"Together Again!"

"TOGETHER AGAIN"

Together again my tears have stopped falling
The long lonely nights are now at an end
The key to my heart you hold in your hand
But nothing else matters cause we're together again
~~~
Together again the grey skies are gone
You're back in my arms right where you belong
The love that we knew is living again
And nothing else matters cause we're together again
~~~
Together again my tears have stopped falling
The long lonely nights are now at an end
The love that we knew is living again
And nothing else matters now we're together again
No nothing else matters now we're together again

BABY ON BOARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are so happy to announce that baby #2 is now on it's way. Baby is due July 23 or there-a-bouts. You know how babies have a mind of their own and come when they are ready to come! We are praying for a healthy pregnancy, delivery and baby. Your prayers are very much appreciated.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Because everything was lost in the tornado, they have absolutely no baby supplies or furniture. If you would like to help this Marine family in getting ready for their second baby, it would be greatly appreciated. They did not ask me to do this, I'm doing it on my own, because I know they need the help and cannot do it on their own.
Kimberly is Registered at Target
Just go to "The Baby Registry and type in her name Kimberly Lemire
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once they find out the sex of the baby, more things will be added to the Registry.
Thank-You in advance for helping out one of your Marine families!
GOD BLESS YOU!

8 weeks and 2 days along. Looks like my little Angel ;o)
IT'S A GIRL!!!!
~ Baby Kaillyn Danielle ~

At 16 weeks along!

~UPDATE~
At 20 weeks into the pregnancy, Kimberly found out that she has Placenta Previa. There are 2 forms of Previa; Complete and Marginal. Complete is when the placenta is completely covering the opening of the cervix. Marginal is when the placenta is partially covering the opening. She has the Complete form. As the uterus grows, sometimes the placenta will move away from the cervix allowing for a normal pregnancy. But if the placenta does not move, she will have to have a C-section. They will have to take the baby early in order to keep her from going into labor. If she goes into labor, it could cause her to hemorrhage putting her AND the baby's life in danger. We are praying that everything will go smoothly and that nothing will go wrong.

To make matters worse, even though her husband had just recently returned from Afghanistan last Sept. he is now getting ready to be sent back out again as Combat Replacement. Unfortunately, he will not be here for the birth of their second baby girl. I will be flying out next week and will be bringing her and Alexis back home with me and she plans to have the baby here in Indiana, in the same hospital I was born in.

Due to the tornado that Kimberly survived last June, she now suffers with symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She does not need this stress on top of her husband being gone, plus the worry of this pregnancy.
Your prayers are greatly appreciated for her and her family!

***BREAKING NEWS***

We are rejoicing over the latest news that just came in!!!!
Kimberly had a doctor's appt. today, 4/25/2011 and they did an ultrasound to check on the location of the placenta and it has moved to the top of the uterus where it is supposed to be!! This is a miracle in and of itself because she was told that the entire placenta was completely covering the cervix. And now it is all the way back up to the top where it belongs! The doctor was even amazed!! We are praising God for this definite answer to prayer!
